Survival of the Fashion Fittest

Graceful Evolution.  When thinking about fashion or home fashion and its evolutionary spirit, one may notice that the fashion industry has all of the defining elements of a truly evolutionary scheme.  The crux of it is that ‘fashion organisms’, i.e., the designers, editors, art directors, retailers, bloggers and models, emerge through the natural selection of small, inherited variations that bump up their ability to compete, survive and sustain their creative niches.  The fashion world provides an evolutionary outlet for artistic creation.  It serves as a kind of structural template for reflecting and expressing identity.  As in nature, the blending of the classic with the new will always be at the core of graceful evolution.
